A3s 300/600 sorta weird line
2nd orbit of a 300/600ish session on interpoker. Nothing has happened with either me or the villain yet this session, although we've played a handful of sessions together. His name is coolade. More than likely a 2+2er, but I don't know. He's a regular in the game and from what I can tell is solid. I might be getting him mixed up with another player, but I'm pretty sure he thinks i'm on the tighter side of things and in our confrontations I have been if I recall.
Anyhow, I raise A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on the button, he 3 bets out of the sb. I don't usually cap this here, but I think it's right sometimes for balance purposes. Especially if you've been playing on the weaker side of things as of late. Flop A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] He checks and I check. |

He checks and I check. [/ QUOTE ] I could be way off here but checking behind seems too transparent. I'd imagine it would be more profitable to bet the flop, hope he puts you on some pocket pair, and takes a shot at pushing you off it with the A-high board. I guess it depends how often the action goes check/check on the flop and check/bet/fold on the turn. Hard to really say without knowing how often coolade will try to put you to the test in that spot... Edit: Don't you think its easier for him to put you on a hand when you check rather than bet? ___1___ |

You capped and checked? . If I was villain I wouldnt know what to think. Do you think villain will call a CR on the turn or river with no ace?

Re: A3s 300/600 sorta weird line
I'm not sure I understand this line - even if he thinks you're on the tighter side of things he doesn't think you're check/folding kings - 9s on this flop, so you would bet out with them.
You wouldn't check a set here either, and you'd hope to get action with ace/good kicker if he had an ace as well. I don't think he'll pay much with a pp, and if he had any sort of ace it's ahead of yours and will stay that way. What about bet the flop, check the turn? If checkraised on the flop I think you're up [censored] creek |

Maybe if you were good enough to realize A3 is not a good hand you might do ok

Re: A3s 300/600 sorta weird line
BK,
I have no problem with checking behind... as long as you are going to raise the turn with a bet to you. Without knowing much about the player, I would likely bet out here and see what happens. Admittedly, if I was in the small blind, i would be concerned with you checking behind and may put you on a huge hand like a set. However, if the SB has a hand like KQ then you probably arent getting any more $$ out of him on this flop |

Re: A3s 300/600 sorta weird line
i'll take a line like this vs. solid players.
betting the flop is ok to. one plus with betting the flop is it gives him a chance to take you off your hand. Barron |
