Default bankroll question

what % of ones total bankroll should one use to buy in a no-limit ring game? 1/10, 1/20?

20 buy ins is about right, but it depends on your style of play and your game selection.

20 buy-ins is a good number if you're just starting out in order to withstand variance, the learning process, etc. If you're not comfortable with 20, then use more. There's no "right" answer here.

20 buy-ins is the standard bankroll.
100 big blinds is the standard buy-in.
