I couldn't be happier, I always hated the Red Sox because of the whole BS "curse" garbage when the cubs have it far worse, all the stuff about Fenway Park and the ridiculous media coverage, and Peter Gammons. Yet I couldn't go into full-scale wanting them to lose because if they won, I wouldn't have to hear about them as much. Now that they have a title, I can fully hate them, in fact I have become a Yankees fan simply because of the rivalry, and I have always been a White Sox fan for geographical reasons, although I prefer the Cubs at heart.

wrong. We had no DEFENSE. Our pitching wasn't that bad.

Uh. Doug? As bad as the defense was, pitching was a huge problem for the Sox all year.

I'm sad to see them lose, but I can't say I expected them to win this year. Hoped they would, sure. But not expected.

Our bullpen was horrific. The starting pitching was decent, but only if you count the first half.
I'd like to see us keep Damon and Mueller, and let Millar go. We need to find ourselves a new shiny firstbaseman. And we need to get some real middle relievers. Next year a rotation of Schilling, Wakefield, Arroyo, and Clement should be just fine. I don't know what to do with David Wells. He doesn't have a contract for next year right?

I never said the pitching was good, but I still think defense was a really big part of the pitching problem.

Yes, the bullpen really sucked, and probably wouldn't have looked good if you put the entire gold glove team on the field. I do think the starters (particularly Schilling) would have looked quite a bit better with a good defense, though.
