Default 99 UTG 6max

A friend of mine and I are having a bit of a disagreement over how to play this hand. Would appreciate some imput on this one.

Absolute 6max, 1/2. I'm under the gun and I've got pocket nines. I raise. TAG to my immediate left reraises. Average player next to act caps. Folded back to me.

Call two or fold?

There are 10.5 SB in the pot right now, and there's definitely going to be one more. You're going to fold 99 getting 11.5:2? Call, but be ready to turbo muck any flop that doesn't have a 9 in it.

That's what I said. My 20/40 playing associate says that this is a fold for the reasons that we will only continue if the flop has a 9 and sometimes that 9 will be up against a bigger set, making the call -EV. I told him he was a loony.

There are three questions to ask your friend:
1) How big of a pot does he expect by the end of the hand?
2) How often is "sometimes... against a bigger set"?
3) Does he know how to properly compute EV?

As long as the parameters chosen are reasonable. This should come out +EV from the point of the preflop call.

Pretty standard call with any pair once you've put two bets in.
