Hows the play there? Thinking of taking a trip up there. Do they offer any tournies? If so, how much and when? How are the other games there? What do they spread?

ameristar = limit
harrahss = no limit

goto the websites for phone numbers, they run tourneys all the time.

don't know much about the tourneys but harrah's is a much nicer room in general.

Ameristar isn't bad but it's a kiddie pool compared to harrah's size.

I moved from STL in July. Ameristar = limit and Harrah's = NL is accurate. Harrah's = wild NL a bit more accurate. Very rarely limit over 6-12 there though.

Tournaments = Ameristar has a monthly 100+ buyin on last Sunday of the month (135?) and frequent $50 SNGs w/ very fast structure, Harrah's has 50 person $50's (+5 or 10 can't remember) M, T, W afternoons, nothing on weekends

[/ QUOTE ]I've been to both (Harrah's twice, Ameristar more than a dozen times), and all the times I went (this was on Fridays or Saturdays only), both had limit and no limit, with 3/6 limit being the predominant game at both places. Maybe it's different on weekdays.

Ameristar also spreads an Omaha/8 table (5/10 w/ full kill on weekends, 3/6 sometimes during the week according to the card room manager), and on Saturday nights, a pot limit Omaha High table.
