Default Pocket 6\'s in middle late position

So tonight I held pocket 6's and it was raise, reraise, and cap before it gets to me...should I have called 4 bets colds preflop with a small pair? These are the situations that confuse me...my hand would have won...with a set on the flop improving to a boat on the turn...but how was I supposed to play it for 4 bets? This kind of thing happens often enought that I thought it was worth mentioning. Thanks!

you made a good fold, dont worry about the results, in the long run you will not make money paying 4 bets to see a flop with 66 unless you can be sure that the pot will be 7-8 way(i think), which is very rare

I'd call PF with any pair if I was sure it was going to be 5 way and my position relative to the PF capper won't suck. If I were in the BB I'd call if I was sure it would be 4 way. I can't tell you if this is EV with how many hands I have right now.
