hello, i started 400nl today and just wanted to know what the real good players here do with pocket pairs 66-TT. im assuming they raise with JJ-AA. what pockets below JJ do you guys raise with in the 400nl. or is limping it better? i do 6max only.

In most games in the 400, I raise with all PPs from all positions in an unopened pot.

Jim, are you talking 6max now or is 'most' also refering to full ring? (I know op asked about 6max)

Reason I ask is that I work on raising more preflop.

6-max only.

In full ring, I will usually just limp PPs < 88, or fold them in EP.

Same, although I muck 22/33 in EP about half the time.

I have started testing with rasing lower pairs when it's folded to me and its not so many people left that I want to fold.

Problem whe seeing flop is that I seldom feel so very strong. I have a a rather bad hand with few outs.

This is true, but it's amazing how often a continuation bet takes it down.

I'm just learning, and a little confused. How does this reasoning for raising with PP have anything to do with the fact that you have a PP? Seems to apply to any 2. I mean, 72o often flops a bad hand with few outs, and if you raise with it you'll often take the pot down with a continuation bet. And if you've got a low PP, if the flop gets any piece of your opponent you're typically behind. So if your CB gets called, you also might as well have any 2.

A PP has much better outs than 72o

Nah.. Your PP have a lot more value.

1) You have some chances to get really good hand. You have seen four communitycards if they call your contnuationbet.

2) You actually have a pair. It's more often you are ahead of a calling AK-hand after the flop has shown then you are behind.
