Default Bad continuation?

This is a $5 3-table. Quick call behind me. Satanic flop. I don't like my line. Any suggestions?
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (8 handed) converter

Hero (t2450)
MP1 (t2450)
MP2 (t2510)
CO (t1970)
Button (t4710)
SB (t350)
BB (t1510)
UTG (t3200)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls t100, Hero raises to t400, MP1 calls t400, 5 folds, UTG calls t300.

Flop: (t1350) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets t800, MP1 calls t800, UTG folds.

Turn: (t2950) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets t600, Hero folds.

I now think a smaller lead would suffice, and keep the pot a little more manageable. The pot is so big on the turn that I have no FE, leading or checkraising. I also allowed myself to get pwn'd for 600, because I have no idea where I am. Maybe check/call the minbet, push? I feel like I needed to give this guy some initiative, then blow him off the hand. Or at least get some information.

-D.

hmm, on the flop no pair is gonna fold your bet.. Only call you'll get is someone who has a pair in their hand or (possibly) has ace high and thinks that's good.. turn play was good though, you know you're beat, jack not great card either

Hero calls.

Your getting 6:1 to see the river. If you hit an ace or a K the hand is probably good, I think its most likely that villain has a pair and the j is also an out to split the pot. I'd go down with the hand.

re-read harrington. continuation bet is when a) u're on the button (or last to act) and b) when flop is likely missed everyone.

it's not last to act, it's raising before the flop and first to bet after the flop.
