[$30/3] QQ hand.
-Preflop: Prudent, or overenthusiastic?
-Flop: Can I possibly get away from this hand? Should I consider checking in order to induce a bluff/trick an underpair into thinking he may be good? 30/60 Tourney Texas Hold'em Game Table (NL) (Tournament 16173638) - Thu Sep 29 12:48:24 EDT 2005 Table Table 11562 (Real Money) -- Seat 9 is the button Total number of players : 10 Seat 1: (815) Seat 2: (815) Seat 3: Villain (770) Seat 4: (830) Seat 5: (745) Seat 6: Hero (795) Seat 7: (710) Seat 8: (830) Seat 9: (80) Seat 10: (1610) Dealt to ItsNotXhad [ Qh, Qd ] 1 fold, dawg557 raises (95) to 95, 2 folds, ItsNotXhad raises (300) to 300 folded to Villain who calls (205) ** Dealing Flop ** : [ Ac, 8h, As ] Villain checks. Re: [$30/3] QQ hand.
Personally I wait. He either has you beat (in which case nothing changes) or he has 3 outs, or he has 2 outs.

-Preflop: Prudent, or overenthusiastic? [/ QUOTE ] Looks fine to me. [ QUOTE ] -Flop: Can I possibly get away from this hand? [/ QUOTE ] Sure. You have Queens with an A (or in this case, two A) on the board. Such is life. [ QUOTE ] Should I consider checking in order to induce a bluff/trick an underpair into thinking he may be good? [/ QUOTE ] No. You should check because, almost all of the time, only hands that have you beat will call you. I'd just try to check it down. If villain bets, then you have a decision to make. |

Sure. You have Queens with an A (or in this case, two A) on the board. Such is life. [/ QUOTE ] Two A is better than one (makes it statistically less likely villain has one), especially if Villain is a bad enough player to check/fold KK... ...wait, KK usually pushes preflop. The flop cbet gets worse the longer I think about it. |
