$11 - BB Blues with KQ

I would really appreciate some advice and insight regarding the following hand.

Villain had done a lot of min raising throughout the game; appeared to be pretty loose and aggressive and was using his stack well. I've got KQ, 100 to call in a pot of 300, lets see a flop.

I hit top pair decent kicker, a few hands to worry about but I would be beating a lot of hands I'd seen him showdown previously. I checked hoping for a bet since I had seen him pop off continuation bets a lot of the time. I was going to come over the top if he bet since I really thought I was ahead.

Villain bets [500].

Over pot sized bet makes me stop and think. Does he really have something this time? AA? AK? KJ? KK? JJ? If he did have a big hand then I felt certain he would have bet smaller to try and induce a call from me. It was the big bet that made me think he wanted me out of the pot and that he really did not want a call.

Hero is all-In [930]

I go all-in and stick with my plan. I really think he's trying to buy the pot and I am ahead.

Villain calls [430].

Very quick call from Villain.

Villain shows [ Ah, Ad ] two pairs, aces and jacks.
Hero shows [ Qs, Kc ] two pairs, kings and jacks.
Villain wins 2310 chips from the main pot with two pairs, aces and jacks.
Hero finished in eighth place.
Hero has left the table.

I completely misread villain and I feel that I misplayed this hand entirely. It was his oversized bet that really confused me.

Should I have popped out a probe bet (200-300) on the flop hoping to chase him out and gain some info? Fold to a re-raise and shutdown on turn if he called?

What would have been a good line to take to avoid going broke on this hand or at the very least lose the minimum amount of chips?

Usually when KQ goes down it is a sign someone has overvalued it and played the hand badly. Here I doubt you had much choice given the reads you had on the player. Maybe you could have given it up on the flop, and against a tight player no doubt you would have, but in this situation I think he just trapped you with a monster. Not much you can do about it I'm afraid
