3 Good Bets for the Weekend
In order of value:
1. Falcons -6 2. Colts under 45 3. Tarver over RJJr. Here I have to explain: The price is now getting down towards -160 or even -150 in lots of places so plenty of people are betting RJJ. This is a big mistake. Tarver is a horrible matchup for RJJ for many reasons. First, Tarver is truly a much bigger man with a larger frame. Let's face it, he knocked RJJ out last time with a single punch in round 2. Further, RJJ is not a big puncher and will unlikely be able to effectively hurt Tarver to the point where the fight will turn. Finally, Tarver has had some very high quality fights in the last 18 months while RJJ has been jawing it up next to Merchant and Lampley on HBO. Traditionally, the public has cheered for the comeback guy. But before you make a bet on RJJ you better consider the style disadvantage going in. Indy |

Re: 3 Good Bets for the Weekend
What do you think about the O/U on Jones/Tarver? Sitting at 9.5 the under looks like a good play considering the last fight...

Re: 3 Good Bets for the Weekend
Love Tarver in this fight.
"Yeah, I gotta question. You got any excuses tonite, Roy? You gonna have any excuses tonite?" Tarver basically ripped of RJ's manhood and threw it in the upper deck. I'm still in awe. Naj |

Re: 3 Good Bets for the Weekend
Yah, I can't see why the public cannot remember what happened last fight. How often does a guy get beat like that and come back at only +160? I CERTAINTLY do not like the over in this fight and would go with the under if I had some gamble in me. I do not, however, recommend doing the over/under in this fight because RJJ has lots to prove and even though he's lookin to an asswhoopin he may put up a little fight and take it to round 12. Who knows about that. However, he is not going to win str8 up.

Re: 3 Good Bets for the Weekend
EZB,
Dont bet on baseball. Man, I just cannot beat baseball, there are just too many variables and any given game can go either way. Having said that, if I absolutely had to gamble on baseball today here is what I would bet: 02:20 USA ET - PIRATES +176 at Cubs (Maholm-Prior) Check these pitchers' latest half-dozen-or-so starts and you'll find Maholm and the Pirates' bullpen have better numbers than Prior and the Cubs' bullpen. The Pirates have also been getting 10.0 hits per 9 innings at bat compared to the Cubs getting only 8.4 hits per 9 innings at bat. Certain other stats favor the Cubs, but there's nothing we can find to justify the size of these posted odds. We'd take the Pirates (and Maholm v. Prior) at +130 or better. L8tr, Indy |

Re: 3 Good Bets for the Weekend
Yah you know, it was a bit close. That game was much higher scoring then I thought it would be. Either way, that one was prolly a little lucky as Manning tricked us and tried to go back to his 2004 Offense. A win is a win though, let's just hope the Falcons deliver.
