Re: obvious play?
CO likely to have AQ. You can fold or call. You maybe behind but you have little chance to get a boat on the river.
You should bet 1/3 - 1/2 of the pot on the flop to gain information. You should do a blocking bet on the turn to not give a free card (the board is really bad for you and you still check). If you got reraise on your bet, then you are sure CO has AQ. Then you can serious considering laydown your set. Otherwise without much read about CO's hand you have to call and hope CO is a loose player. |

Betting the flop doesn't really get information. If I bet, it's to build a pot. Blocking bet on the turn won't help. If I bet a sensible amount then I'm fairly pot-comitted and would have to call given the pot odds. I wan't really worried about giving a free card on the turn - I have a redraw to the boat, there aren't many (more) scare cards, and I may already be behind. |

Re: obvious play?
I doubt cutoff has AQ here unless he's suicidal by overbetting the flop with nothing into 2 people. AQ would also value bet the turn instead of trying to force people out with a push (no one has showed any strength so it's possible everyone could be drawing dead to his straight. I think he could have AA, KK, QQ, KJ, TT, KT, AK, 77 and maybe KQ with a possibility of AQ, and some other random possibilies of two pair or bluffs that you are ahead of. I'm pretty sure you are ahead of that range, so this is a call.
BTW, I'd raise the flop here. |
