Default Push with medium PP UTG at FT?

Hey -

This is a problem I seem to be facing quite a bit lately. Sitting with a short stack, UTG or UTG + 1, with a medium pocket pair. At a smaller table, I'd push without a second thought, but here facing 6 opponents, I'm a little hesitant.

This is the FT of a Stars $20+2 NLHE MTT. I've got a M of about 3.2 with the blinds about to take 1/4 of my stack in the next 2 hands and leave me with a M of a little more than 2. As you can see, there are some other short stacks and a couple big ones, including a monster stack held by a guy who may be tempted to call me with a fairly wide range of hands (6s-As, strong Aces and strong Ks). I figure if I'm called by anyone I'm either way behind or a flip. The FT just started, so not everyone has seen me play yet (including the monster stack).

Anyone not push here?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t8000 (7 handed) converter

MP2 (t125841)

pot = 14800 Preflop: Hero is UTG with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

If I push here, I'm making it 47000 to go.

thanks,

Poooooosh...

You shouldn't be worried about taking a coin flip. Also the odds of anyone else having 77 crushed aren't that great. You don't have much to lose here with no desperate shortstacks, and a double here puts you in a great position to nab one of the top 3 spots or higher..

It's tough to do with 6 left, but you probably won't find a better spot within the next, uh, 0 hands before you take the blinds
