I\'m killing 1/2
Moved back up to 1/2 a little under a month ago. Played 4000 odd hands, (I only play one table at a time) and I'm doing real good. 6.7BB/100hands. Biggest winning session 65BB, biggest losing session 22BB. I know that I'm running good but after all the posts lately regarding how tough 1/2 supposedly is, I felt that I should share this with you all. I've been practicing table selection but more importantly, seat selection. TAGs on my left and loose-passives on my right. If the seats not right then I change.
Now, here is my question. I have 3 options right now as my bankroll is more than healthy enough for 2/4. 1. Keep playing at 1/2 2. Go play 1/2 6max. 3. Move up to 2/4. Thoughts? |

Go play 1/2 6max. [/ QUOTE ] Sooo soft. I don't play full ring. I suppose I should eventually for the learning experience, but not with all that free money out there. |

Re: I\'m killing 1/2
i say play 10k at 6-max and then move to 2/4. you may never go back to full ring... (plus you might as well practice shorthanded play)

Play more hands at the current limit. Then try 6-max.

Re: I\'m killing 1/2
Go to 1/2 6-max. You're going to need to learn 6-max, since from my anecdotal evidence of reading other threads, 6-max is where all the action is past 2/4

Don't you want to act after the aggressive player and let the passive player pay you off? |

Re: I\'m killing 1/2
6-max. it is applicable to full ring, more fun, more loose, and you'll need the skills more as you move up.

[/ QUOTE ] Entity had a good post on this a short time ago (if anyone has it), but basically you want the TAG to your left b/c he will be in less pots, and will not cold call your raises as much, so you gain position every time he folds. You want the LP to your right, so you know when he limps in. Then you can isolate him more often. Just read the link I found it. never mind, wrong link, anyone else have it? |
