Default A Democratic Official in a New Orleans suburb....

This is how a Democratic Official in a New Orleans suburb decided to do his part in the hurricane recovery...

Storm Donations Found at Official's Home

BATON ROUGE, La. - Police found cases of food, clothing and tools intended for hurricane victims at the home of the chief administrative officer for a New Orleans suburb, authorities said Wednesday.

Officers searched Cedric Floyd's home because of complaints that city workers were helping themselves to donations for hurricane victims. Floyd, who runs the day-to-day operations in the suburb of Kenner, was in charge of distributing the goods.

Police plan to seek a charge of committing an illegal act as a public official against Floyd, and more charges against other city workers are possible, police Capt. Steve Caraway said.

The donations filled a large pickup truck four times. "It was an awful lot of stuff," Caraway said.

The donated materials must be processed as evidence but eventually will be distributed to victims. "We have lots of families that are begging for these supplies," said Attorney General Charles Foti, whose office assisted in the investigation.

Attempts to reach Floyd were unsuccessful at home numbers listed under his name in Kenner. His office number went unanswered after business hours.

Philip Ramon, chief of staff to Kenner Mayor Philip Capitano, has said city officials were investigating the alleged pilfering but added that many employees were themselves hurricane victims.

Congratulations, you win the prize. They carefully left that out of the article (media bias!).

A quick Google search will reveal that he is a Democratic official. I wonder why they left that little tidbit out?

Had the search gone the other way, of course, this would never have been posted here..

Is he black? Jewish? A poker player? A male hooker? Born is Iowa? Left-handed? A scratch golfer? Maybe they conveniently left those tidbits out of the story too. Maybe because they're irrelevant.

His party is relevant. He would not have been appointed by a Democrat mayor and council except for him also being a partisan Democrat. This guy basically runs the city on a day-to-day basis, and the Democrats in control of the city have kept the running of the city in Democratic (and corrupt) hands for a reason. This is not the first issue of corruption involving this guy (and the mayor).

A scratch golfer would never do this.

You're right, BGC, because one of the major platforms of the Democratic Party is food and supply hoarding in disaster situations.

Is it hard to brush your teeth with all the total crap that comes out of your mouth all the time?

No one doubts he's a partisan Democrat. The point is the relevance of that to the story. Your post title "A Democratic Official in a New Orleans suburb...." suggests he did what he did because he's a Democrat. Crooks come in all political stripes.
