Default 89s defending against blind steal

Villain in this hand is button. Not much data, but through 95 hands... 17vpip, 67% attempted to steal blinds, 10.5% PFR

I have one shown hand on villain, which is overplaying AKs on a TT6 flop with no draws getting all-in vs. JT. I've seen villain try and steal blinds a few times and decided to make a stand. I have villain on two big cards, possibly looking for the flush. I'm looking forward to this hand taking some bashing. Enjoy,
-Ace

put in a real raise on teh flop, if called, chill out. The minraise tells you nothing since most people will call it and it just sets you up to play a bigger pot and make a bigger mistake on the turn. I generally save my minraises for when I have position.

The only way he is calling river is if you are behind. Why dont you check or lead weak then let him bluff the riveR?

Line looks strong, he might read a set, but you dont have enough to push him off an overpair.. you got stacked I assume?

Well, he folded. I thought there was a chance he could have had an overpair so I pushed anyways. No idea what he had, but figured the hand was at least amusing enough to post with the double check-minraise. I think the play is something I can't do often, but occasionally representing a monster is too tempting to pass up.

[/ QUOTE ] BINGO. A min raise doesn't really tell you jack here. And since he's calling them, he's probably not bluffing unless he's setting up some huge scheme. Sure you have top pair, but your kicker sucks, and your hand is very vulnerable. A min raise doesn't protect your hand, so you need to find out where you are, with a nice raise(on the flop) not "lure more money" into the pot with such a weak holding.
