Motor City -- what's up with that?

As I mentioned elsewhere, I played some NL at Motor City last weekend. In both the 50-200 (1-2) and No Limit (2-5) games, the smaller blind is on the button and then there are two blinds of the bigger size (which some of the dealers still seemed to refer to as "small" and "big" even though they were the same size.

What's up with that?
