my read is that he is a good player. however, my read on him was a big ace on this flop.

I think you should fold preflop. Flop seems like a really easy fold without a read.

Definitely call pre-flop. You're on the button, with a pocket pair. Auto-call.

Fold to the flop check-raise, unless you have a really strong read that you think he has missed overs. That's a call only you can make.

I like betting more on that flop if you're gonna bet at all. If he still check-raises, then you know that he probably isn't check-raising because he sensed weakness.
