Default Line shopping

Just curious to know how many people out there put serious effort into shopping around for attractive lines on multiple sites vs. staying at one or two sites. How often are you able to find unusual lines of particular value by looking around? Do they really ever change from site to site?

I'm still a newb trying to get into this now...

Lines can and sometimes do differ to varying degrees from site to site, and over the course of time from when the lines are first posted early in the week until kickoff.

IMO it is critically important to shop for the best lines, as when you do find an advantageous line for a game you like that is like (potential) free money, and it does add up over the course of the season.

At minimum, set up at least 3 high quality outs (5 is better IMO) and shop away.

Getting a better line/price is like getting something on sale. You choose whether or not you want to put in the effort to save money.

If you're serious about making money, I can't think of any reason not to have accounts at Pinny, Cris, Skybook, Bodog, 5 dimes, cascade, bj/oly, hollywood. That's a good start.

I always shop for lines. I use a combination of local books and offshores. At best with the offshores you may get a 1/2 pt by shopping around but with local books that can be increased drastically. Some of the local BM's set their lines on Wed and do not move them.

To me getting the best line is as important as the handicaping. With mutiple online accounts, you can save 1% or more on everybet, over the course of a season lineshoping could account for most of or all of your profits.

That, and it's a real bitch to lose by a 1/2 pt when you didn't have to.
