Party 5/10, 5-Handed
Folded to SB who is 32/16 not real aggro post but my data is too insufficient to trust at this point. I raise with K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB calls. Flop is 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I bet. SB checkraises. I 3-bet. SB calls. Turn is a 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB checks. I bet. SB checkraises (going for the trifecta I guess). I call. River is a 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB bets. I fold. River fold OK here? Should I have slowed down on the flop? I feel like I played this right. |

check behind the turn - he knows that AK/AQ/KQ will all 3bet this flop to his checkraise so he's not going to believe you have an overpair or even AJ. He also won't fold the river for one bet with a mid PP, so there's no point in following through. There are only a few draws that you're ahead of to you also can't really bet this for value. And yes, fold the river.
The flop 3bet is a must. By the turn you no longer have an edge over a pair, so draw for free. -DrG |

The river is a fold. Your opponent showed alot of strength on the flop, so he's not folding the turn, which makes your semibluff rather pointless. Take the free card he so graciously offers, and fold the river if you miss.
