Default When is the best time to utilize a stop and go?

I realize that a stop and go is done when someone calls or cold-calls a bet on the flop intending to bet, raise or push on the next street. When is the best time to utilize this in a full ring NL cash game? Could someone give me an example hand, one made up or from one they've seen or played? Thanks in advance.
