Both of these hands felt weak. 88 and AQ-- interesting flops.
I wasn't sure if I was ahead so I ended up giving too many free cards here. I didn't have a read on these guys. In the 8s hand, I figured for sure the flop aggressor had an overpair and I was drawing to the straight. In the second hand at 10/20, I was planning on a turn Check raise. I figured these guys are real aggressive and would definitely bet the turn. I thought he had a pair with a diamond like 8s8d or something which gives me a stranglehold on the hand. Ah well. Thoughts?

Re: Both of these hands felt weak. 88 and AQ-- interesting flops.
Hand 2 looks fine.
Hand 1 I don't like the flop 3-bet. You're clearly behind and given you're vulnerable to spades or pairing the board, I don't see this raise as for value. The turn is just wierd overall (your check is good obviously, you want to see a free card). I'm guessing the SB tried for a C/R and missed. I'm curious what others think on the river. Given the pot size I think you have to call, but given the action I can't figure out what you beat. What would the SB raise with on the flop (attempting to drive you out of the hand) that you beat? |

I still don't know about hand 1. Hand 1, another possible line might be to cap flop, lead turn with top pair and the nut flush draw.
Hand 2, I felt the rivercall was a must because of that pot size and the turn check around. That flop 3 bet might have been bad seeing as how I was behind, however my logic was to drive out the last guy if he had overcards to my 8s. |
