Default Yet another of Harv\'s blind steals gets crazy

Working off the last couple hands of my Party bonus. The table has its moments, but it's not the greatest.

Reads: The highest VPIP behind me is the BB, who's running at about 20% over a small sample. The last 3 hands I've raised & shown down were AK (flopped TPTK), KK (turned top set) and TT (won at showdown vs. a flush draw). I've actually been pretty tight with my steal attempts at this table--honest! As I said, small sample size for the BB and I haven't really figured out if he's passive or aggressive yet (every pot he's been in he either folded the turn or won with a flop bet).

5:1 or so to call down, he has a 5 or something like AA-QQ that often. Do it. I don't think a cap is appropriate if that's what you're asking.

Calls, and shows-down for one more bet.

P.S. stealing with 43 is really iffy, especially since being suited isn't what matters here.

Call and raise any non-pairing river.

I gotta think we should get one more bet in here somehow.

Lowest risk way to do it is by calling the turn and raising a non-pairing river, as Rob said.

I think we want three more bets going in. Capping the turn opens us up to having to put in four. Raising the river will often shut down an opponent who has anything short of the nuts, including an opponent holding a bigger straight or a weak boat. So in many cases where we are beat we save a bet.

Villain has a 5 or overpair or something like that way often enough to get another bet in.

Agreed. I just did it here because my table image was very strong & the players behind me were all pretty tight. Well, and yeah--because I sometimes find it difficult to go a full orbit without raising.

I would cap, lead the river and call a bet. Too much?

And by lead the river I mean call a bet or bet when checked to...

That's about where I was during the hand. I capped the turn, but checked through the river when another 7 hit. The BB's 89o was goot.

Well, I'm way offbase with others in this thread, but I think you should cap out the turn and cap out the river if he wants to. Guys will go nuts here with a 5 all the time. If he has anything else you lose, sure, but most of the time he's got a 5. You need to be prepared to lose this pot if it gets capped out about 40% of the time, but it's still worth just plastering the pot with chips in this spot. You have a monster and you shouldn't be looking to save bets.

Also, keep in mind that on the river you aren't automatically going to be able to raise. If an 8 or 9 or 4 or something comes, you may not get to raise the river. Get the bets in on the turn.

I'm capping the turn here a lot. He could just have a 5 and think that he has you. I'd cap the turn, probably raise a non pairing river and call a three bet
