Default Monster Draw OOP

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 4 handed) internettexasholdem.com

BB ($43.25)
UTG ($71.66)
Button ($40.07)
Hero ($70.05)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG calls $0.50, Button calls $0.50, Hero (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($2) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero bets $2, BB raises to $4, UTG folds, Button folds, Hero raises to $12, BB calls $38.75 (All-In), Hero calls $30.75.

How do you play this out of position? Ideally I'd like to be the one pushing so I can have some folding equity, but that doesn't seem possible here unless I make some massive overbet. Calling his minraise doesn't make sense to me because if I miss the turn I'll likely have to face a big bet. Given that I raised I think my line would be to open push any turn. Would anyone suggest check/folding a missed turn (assuming he bets it big)?

The only hand you're really afraid of is J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

just kidding this isn't omaha.

I suppose you could raise to higher than $12 if you want some FE....what is your plan if he flatcalls the 12 and the turn bricks?

I play this exactly the same way. You want to get the money in now because if the fourth straight card hits you aren't getting paid off.

It is a big draw but it's still a draw and villain could even be on a better draw with two higher spades counterfitting your flush outs, two bigger cards counterfitting your straight outs or even both where you're ahead now but behind to win after the next two cards (like against QJ[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]).

I call the raise on the flop and see what the turn brings.

If you really want to be the aggressor, you push the flop raise instead of just raising it.
