Default Is it possible to win....?

I'm playing $1/£2 and £2/$4 limits and I can't seem to make headway. I play as tight as I can and come out betting my strong hands but many times I get out drawed. I bluff when I can get away with it and bet my drawing hands when the pot odds are correct - to be honest I think I play a good game for these limits. I've read David Slansky's Poker Theory (twice and reading for third time currently and also Lee Jones may times) and I do honestly believe I'm getting 'the best of it'.

My question is - is it possible to win on these online tables with so many playing so loose? I've been playing for a year now, and in SST's (which I took up this Summer) I'm winning constantly. It's just that I'd like to have a good all-round game and win at cash limits as well. Could it be that the rake is the only winner?

If anyone has suggestions which may help my play I'll gladly take them on board. What are the expected frequencies in these games - I recently built up $200 in winnings only to see it washed away in £2/$4 in several sessions of appalling cards. Is this the norm?

The first thing you need to do is buy Pokertracker and learn how to use it. You are handicapping yourself without it.
The 2nd thing is buy Gary Carson's Hold 'Em Poker & Ed Miller's Small Stakes Hold Em books. Lee Jone's book is also excellent.

I seem to have a knack for figuring these things out, or maybe I'm just wrong. Him saying he played *pound/*dollar limit had something to do with it.

Thanks, I have the Lee Jones book but is my experience it only tells half the story. I suspect there are many more better players dropping down to the lower limits online that credit is given for - may be different in B&M casinos where the book was writen for (I believe). I've just bought the other low limit book you suggest (order confirmed from Amazon today) - perhaps I should have read it before posting?!

Lastly I'm no troll just a Brit getting his currency signs confused , and I had just registered as well.

My question really is - is studying and practicing for Small stakes worth it long term?

Absolutely! I learned on-line in small limit games and now play 10/20 in local games here in my area. They are so much like playing 1/2 on-line when you have 3-5 loose players chasing too much and aggressive players getting out of line.

Pokertracker will open your eyes. I no longer play on-line, as I find it boring compared to a game where you can socialize, but it was great for learning. Other than that, it serves no purpose unless you're an intravert who doesn't do well in public or does not have a local game available.

It's worth it. You're correct WLLHE tells only half the story, SSHE fills that void.

Are you playing on crypto? If so the 2/4 tables are a bit tougher than the competition WLLHE is written for.

Thanks Guys, I think I'm getting a bit too sensitive about the up's and down's.

Yeah, Crypto. Had a guy change gears on me from LA to a rock earlier (when some LA fish left the game, 4/2 BTW) and it threw me and cost me a few pots to boot. Look forward to SSHE!!

Thanks for the boost, in the mean time I'll go back to STT's until I've read the book.
