Default Where are those loose games?

I have read SSHE and have played well over 10,000 hands. I am wondering where all those loose games that Sklansky describes are. I have been on PP $1/2 and $2/4. Most of the time the average VPIP is about 25%

IMO, it would be the creation of 6max tables that has changed the online poker scene. Loose players want action and 6max gives them their daily fix.

This is an interesting point. I play 2-4 on party poker and can rarely think of a time when i have been in a room with consistently more than 3-5 players seeing the flop (what is suggested in SSH to be a loose game). I have only ever used the tight games hand chart, despite the book advising to start off with the loose one until proven otherwise. Has everyone else found this?

The loose games are in casinos. The lowest limit game in a casino will usually be filled with people who just want to gamble it up and stay in the action (read: play every hand). In fact, games like these exist all the way up to 20/40 in casinos when a lot of tourists are in the game. However, as you might expect, the higher you play, the less common these super-loose games become.

I'm guessing this theory comes about because i guess more ppl are online at weekend, giving a larger sample size, but i'm also sure the 10000s of ppl who play during the week also play at w/e so therefore you still get lots of 'tight' rooms.

Live games is where you'll find 5,6 or 7 people to the flop, online it's more like 3-4 average.

Online games are still very easy. I would suggest starting with the tight game guildlines in SSHE and then loosening up as you feel mroe comfortable and know when to deviate from the chart.

Pacific is much looser and much more passive than Party at the 3/6 limit games. However Pacific have recently introduced 6 handed tables so there are much fewer 50 - 60% 10 handed games now. The average pots are also much higher than at Party (around $45 for 10 handed)

The 2/4 game used to be in the 40 - 70% range but again the effect of the 6 handed tables has meant that the averages have come down. Pot averages for 2/4 are usually around $35.

I played at Party for a while but it seems that everyone had been reading SSHE and virtually every pot was raised pre flop. Pacific is much more passive with lots of limpers. You can also use Poker Tracker on Pacific if you purchase the Handgrabber add on.

The downside is the software is crap (but so are most of the players) and you can't multi table (no bad thing after my experiences on Party).

If you are interested in trying it out they have an invite a friend scheme where you get $25 if you deposit $20 but unlike Party the deposit takes forever to clear (for a $25 bonus you have to bet $500 to clear it)
