Did I play this right?
$10 NL, 9 players, my stack: $4.39
Dingbat has ~$10, CO has ~$2, SB has ~$40 I have K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 10[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Dingbat limps (.10), I limp, 3 limps and 2 folds to SB who raises to .20, everyone calls including BB. 7 players. Pot: $1.35 Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB bets .10, BB folds, Dingbat calls, I raise to $1, CO, SB, and Dingbat call, others fold. 4 players. Pot: $5.15 Turn: 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB and Dingbat check, I go all in for $3.39. CO and SB fold, Dingbat calls. Pot: $11.58 River: 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Dingbat, being a dingbat, has 10[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], so sucks out his flush and wins. What I was thinking: First off, I grant that KTo is not really a good hand to play from EP. My question here is whether I screwed up post-flop. A min raise by SB means nothing, he raises any hand he'll play. On the flop I have top pair. I put out a reasonable bet to see who's taking the hand seriously. If CO had anything he'd probably have gone all-in with such a small stack. SB is aggressive and would have raised if he had anything. Dingbat is fairly new to the table, but may be a calling station. The turn looks like a brick, though it gives suited [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] a flush draw. I don't think anyone can have better than 2nd pair or a flush draw, so unless I've misread everything, anyone calling my all-in bet is technically making a mistake. My overall take on this is that this is just a pretty standard beat on a more or less correctly played hand. Does that sound right? Or do I not really understand what I'm talking about yet? |

Otherwise well played. Suckouts happen. |

Re: Did I play this right?
Early position with K-10 offsuit. You shouldn't have been in the hand in the first place. Pre-flop hand selection is critical, especially out of position.
