Looks like he was in check/call mode so just check on the river. Also why did you 3 bet the flop?

Check the turn and take the free card is the optimal line after the flop, although you could try and push him off as you did. Once that doesn't work, you pretty much have to check the river, not many hands folding there, he's in call down mode

I can't imagine a hand he'd call the preflop raise, c/r the flop, c/c the turn, and fold for a single bet on the end getting 8:1. It would have to be a pretty specific read on the player.

I agree with taking the free card on the turn. Representing the A has promise but I don't think it's likely to work here since the flop action made the pot fairly big.

3 betting the flop is bad. Not taking your free card is also bad.

CONSISTENCY!!!!!!!

If you are three-betting the flop, a primary reason you're doing it is to check behind on the turn.

I don't have huge problems with the flop three-bet, actually. But you need to realize that players who check-raise the flop in heads-up pots usually aren't folding. They'll assume you're stealing all the way and aren't goin' nowhere.

So maximize your chance of winning the pot cheaply by taking the free card on the turn.

And think about the river seriously. He called the turn once the A hit. If that wasn't enough to scare him, will the 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] be? The only value would be forcing an opponent off a K high draw of some kind. That's not going to be the case nearly enough to merit a bet.

Check behind on the turn.

I can't see him folding for one more bet on the river.

I bet the River. Make him fold his Kx spade. He bet the flop with a flush draw and tried to hold on but didn't make it. I don't believe you will win without a bet here. Since you did bet the turn, keep up the pressure
