Simple $20 buy-in home game. Pocket 4s with straight draw.
Villain is aggressive, but smart. Has good reads on people and I know him VERY well. We however rarely play heads up against each other because we know each other best at the table and can get away from a hand if we think we're beat. A lot of the "he knows, she knows, that I know" stuff going on.
We're both the deep stacks at the table with around $60-65 each. Blinds are $0.25/.50. $20 buy in. Hero is in mid-position with 44 and limp. Folded to Villain who raises from late position to $3.25. Everyone folds and I call. Pot - roughly $7.00 Flop 567 rainbow. I check, he bets the pot. I look at him and call. I'm getting terrible pot odds at this point and he would NEVER think I'd call with a straight draw with a pocket pair, but I'm feeling loose tonight. I don't have a read on him quite yet. Turn 10 I check. He bets $12. I look at him for a while and he's trying to act very strong. At this point, I think he's trying to represent a strong over pair too hard. I call, hoping to suck out but still worried he might he might call an all-in with an overpair if I make a move. He's thinking I have a pair+straight draw. I plan to push on the river if no face card comes to try to steal the pot. River Q. I check, he pushes all-in. I fold. I know I played this hand very wrong and should've at least made a move on the turn, check-raising him if I put him on a marginal hand or a couple high cards. With the board, I could've easily represented a set by check pushing all-in because I've done it before to him He said afterwards he had KK, but I don't believe it for a second especially with his push on the river. |

I would c/c the flop and 3/4 pot the turn.
