Default 100nl 6max. Flopped trips vs loose calling station.

Villian is 56/5.5/0.8, will call you down with many holdings.

I checked the flop so villain would be more likely to call me down with something like queen or king high on the turn and river.

I like c/c-ing the river instead of a blocking bet much more. Maybe even c/f based on your read.

Actually the river bet was a combined value and blocking bet.
I felt villian would only reraise it with the nuts and call it with any pp, 4x, Ax, maybe even Kx.

As it turned out villian flashed 89 after I folded.

Are you saying that after villain has bet, he's for sure got a hand and will call you down?

you should post how many hands you have on someone when you post their stats so we can interpret their stats. I like the way you played the hand given the information we have on the villan.

Betting the river is incorrect here, c/c is much better

thats definatley not true, hes a maniac calling station, and by his agression hes only going to raise you with the 9 and check call you with a huge variety of hands that he called you on the flop with.

You said you checked the flop to induce him to call later bets with very bad hands. However, you ended up check raising, which shows much more power than leading out with a bet.

people with vpip that high arent thinking about the opponents hands, they are only worrying about their own cards, and hes got top pair, hes gonna see this one to the river.
