Default Researching online poker rooms...

I apologize if this has been asked repeatedly but I didn't come across anything helpful in the more recent threads.

I am a intermediate-level Hold'em player who has been playing casual home games and 2/4 - 3/6 live casino games for about 2-3 years. My home games have dried up and my casino options are limited by my work schedule. I think I am ready to try online poker, despite some misgivings about security and potential for manipulation (discussions here have allayed my fears somewhat).

I now want to select a site to begin playing online, but I'd like to hear some advice from those of you familiar with multiple sites. The only site I have used to date is Pacific Poker, but I have yet to play for money. I don't mind it, but I have noticed that not many of you seem to play there, and I was wondering if there are any problems with that particular site.

Any comments would greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!

You have a couple of choices.
The site that I would reccommend the most would have to be party poker.com and here is why. My experience with them shows that they have superb support via live help or a 24 hour 800 number, always quick cashouts, and a wide array of tables going. Only thing I dont like about party is that they use props and dont tell the regular players this. I am always a little suspucious when a site has house players and especially suspicious when they dont announce it. Other wise it is a great site.

Coming in tied at second and third are Poker stars followed by true poker. Poker stars has some of the best online tournaments available online. Support is decent but no 800 number. Flops can be a bit suspect at times, but if you play it right you will make out ok. This site has the largest amount of seasonsed players on the net.

True poker comes in third only because of their legitimacy. Cashouts are always fast, support is avaialble, but some times they cant help. Couple of things I don't like about true poker. First the games are awfully wierd. For example their omaha hi low game doesnt yeild lows as much as they should be dealt. You could have two low cards on the board 6-7 times and a third low card wont come. Second the site has a bunch of fish, but unlike other sites these fish actually win a lot.

You also have paradise, ultimate bet, and acr. All are ok but I would not reccomend you playing at paradise. Simply because I dont trust the site one bit, just my opinion.

As for pacific poker I have never played there but heard their software is screwed up and they make you go through a fingerprint eye scan to get your money out of there.

Hope this has helped.

I would stay away from the pokerstar low limit holdem games. They are the tightest you'll find on the net.

Could you please please PLEASE elaborate on what the HELL this might mean?

It has almost the funniest stand alone value of what appears to be a snub of any statement since the whores, criminals and gas attendent guy.

It could however be a general statement about how to play poker which would be pretty much true and found itself into the attempted sabotage that you posted.

You also have paradise, ultimate bet, and acr. All are ok but I would not reccomend you playing at paradise. Simply because I dont trust the site one bit, just my opinion

It is not just your opinion, it is the opinion of many people who cant be bothered to look at the data that people on this forum, and others, have provided to show that what you claim is almost certainly gibberish made up by a sore loser.

Second the site has a bunch of fish, but unlike other sites these fish actually win a lot.

Actually, forget the flops statement, that's old now, use this one for the funniest line of the year award instead.

Hope this has helped

Yep, another set of totally false rumours have been spread to help the cause of stopping anyone from ever playing online,

Good job.

Agreed, for low limits I would try pokerroom or party.

Hi slogger,

I second the recommendation of trying onlinepokerreview. You also may want to check out www.pokerpulse.com for a look at the raw numbers of players on a variety of sites. Just whatever you do, disregard that drivel posted by pokerfan.

Default I guess opinions can now be wrong?

Last time I checked the only things that are concrete are facts. I did not state any facts. Well maybe one or two. An opinion can't be wrong. It is my opinion. Perhaps they didn't teach you the fundamentals of fact and opinion in England. By the way for someone with such a big mouth I never see you playing online. I Just see you researching the fundamentals of the kgc. Many would agree with my opinions. Some will not. But don't bash me because I stated my honest opinion about my experience among many sites.

Reminder to Lorinda: A bigger person would just ignore this.
