Default 4-1 Chiplead to loser in 12 easy steps

Started heads up with a 2-1 chip lead. It was soon a 4-1 chip lead. I lost. Here are the 12 hands of heads up suitable for copy/pasting in the replayer.

When it is heads up, I'm ahead and either of us have less than 10xBB, I push if unraised with anything decent. Is a smaller raise worthwhile if you have > 10xBB, but opponent does not? Does anyone min-raise? I used to raise between 2-3xBB when ahead when I have >10xBB, but opponent has less. Now I push. Please feel free to comment on any of it.

You got unlucky. Blinds are huge, so you can't win without luck or a really dumb opponent who doesn't know how to play with huge blinds. One thing that I do that I think may be +EV is I try to encourage my opponent to make mistakes by showing my good hands if he folds--show the JJ and the AQs, for example. I think this will encourage him to make a lot of incorrect folds at these high blinds.

I never, ever show my cards unless I have to show my winning hand to take the pot. I know some people like to advertise, but I don't like to give out any information about my play unless people pay for it.

Here, you're heads up with huge blinds, and you're push preflop with premium hands. This doesn't give your opponent any new information. What it will do is remind him that you could have premium hands, which may encourage him to play more tightly. It might not, but it can't hurt and it could help.

I think you played fine.

I might consider slowplaying the JJ or the AQ (both on the big blind) but I'm not sure if it's smart, probably it's only good if the opponent is agressiv and will bet at most flops. Hmmmm, maybe the JJ is best?

you definitely were not a luckbox in this one.... but i dont like the j7 push at all. i know blinds are big, but you aren't going to be ahead of anything that calls you based on the blinds and stack sizes

just my .02

I don't have to be ahead when called. I have to win a high enough % of the time when I'm called such that when added to the blinds I steal when he folds I come out ahead.

What would your alternate line be?
