I sucessfully got out of NOLA. But, no cell phones in the 504 area code (incluing mine) are working at this point, and I dont know why. Your friend is likely okay, but doesnt have any way to contact people. Thought youd like to know.

hey guys,
thanks for the concern....I'm okay....I'm at the Baton Rouge airport right now - first time I've seen electricity and clean water in days.....I actually hitch-hiked here - no sh|t..... maybe I'll post a longer "trip report" later, but for now I'll just say that things down here are a mess and I'm glad to be getting the fvck out....at this point I don't care all that much about the material possessions I left behind - including my condo, high-end musical equipment, and the large sums of cash in my safe deposit box.....I'm just fortunate to be getting out..... I don't know when I'll be able to come back to New Orleans, so I'm heading to the bay area for a while (my mom lives there).....I could be there for some time, so I plan on checking out the poker scene in Northern Cal./Vegas....if anyone has any info on not only good games, etc. in both places, but also good living accomodations in Vegas it would be much appreciated..... I may also take some trips to different places.....turnip (et.al), is poker still a viable entity in New York? - and are you still there or have you left on your voyage?..... Matt, maybe you could PM me Alex' number or email address.....some info on bay area games would be cool..... thanks again everyone and take care, Sunny

I'm in nyc until sep 15th, and will be in the bay area mid october. poker situation here is much better, many games. I'm really sorry about NO, glad to hear you are safe. --turnipmonster
