Re: A hand with a strange ending (part 1)
If your read is strong enough that you can fold to a 3-bet, I like it.

Re: A hand with a strange ending (part 1)
i think calling is better here. if he is bluffing or missed a cr on the turn, raising is bad. so the question is how likely is it he has a pair here?
this a good raise against many players but if hes unkown i would rather call. |

Re: A hand with a strange ending (part 1)
My thinking was this...unless he has the Q, I pretty much have the nuts, pending a 75. I was thinking he might be "value betting" any piece....
REgarding the 3-bet...he just might 3-bet a bluff too, lots of missed draws over there. |

Re: A hand with a strange ending (part 1)
river raise is good and a must IMO - call a 3bet against an unknown, fold w/read. It's a call of the 3bet without a read because the opponent knows you don't have a queen and could be pissed off/confused. The raise is a must because i promise you this guy will call with his weak pair because he auto puts you on AK, which is why he tried to value bet it.

Re: A hand with a strange ending (part 1)
I am surprised/glad about your tone. See, I don't typically do these sort of super value raises, just shrug and call thinking "well a better hand 3-bets, worse hand folds" bla bla, rudimentary thinking. Now that I am 2 tabling I get to think about these things
I suppose its routine for you Thats why u are better... |

Re: A hand with a strange ending (part 1)
I guess Im the only one who thinks its pointless. I dont think your tyical player pays off with a worse hand. Dont most pairs c/r this flop anyway?
I save this kind of stuff for when I actually have a read im curious for the strange ending part tho....he 3 bets you with crap? or just calls with Q6?? Im on the edge of my seat tho! |

Re: A hand with a strange ending (part 1)
Raising the river is good. He'll pay off any pair. I'd call his 3-bet.

Re: A hand with a strange ending (part 1)
Arkady,
I'm just curious as to why you didnt bet the turn, with the flush draw and straight draw out there. This is something I do at 5/10 regularly. Thoughts? |
