Default 8/16 river donkbet

Live 8/16 at a SoCal card club. Table is loose passive and massively donkish with the exception of belloc and a regular who everyone seems to fear but who plays a tight/passive/agressive game that is boring and fairly predictable. an ep donk raises, the universe c/calls to me on the button and I donk along with j8s crubs.

flop is Q52, two crubs. EP raiser bets, I raise, everyone calls. turn is a crub checked to me, I bet, all call.

river is a Q, aforementioned TPA regular bets.

Wha?

I say raise, he haven't done anything that implies he's got a set. And from your play it isn't obvious you have a flush, he probably just don't want you to check behind a weaker Q or whatever he thinks you have.

I think you can safely raise here as TPA regular has shown no strength throughout the hand up until this point which makes it fairly unlikely he filled up on the river. The only argument for calling IMO is if he is immediately to your right and you think you can pick up one or more overcalls.

This seems like a really easy raise on the end.

Overcalls seem like they might be more profitable especially if one of the would be over calls would have spiked trips and then raised after getting a few more bets in the pot.

Tough to tell exactly what the action. I'm still inclined to raise as the table sounds donkish/passive and wants to call bets.

Seems like no one has had any problem cold calling two and depending on what seat the local hero is sitting in we may have already got a handfull of callers. If the OP's question is does local hero's donk mean we are beat I think the answer is no but whether to raise or go for overcalls or not requires a little more information IMO.

Call and hope TPA is feeling aggro at the moment and overplaying trips?
