Fantasy football commissioner cheating?
A friend of mine is in a league and he thought his commissioner was manipulating the schedule to miss other teams' top players when he plays them. Here's a description...
Now he looks at this years schedule, and low and behold, the commissioner's team is missing 5 of the other 9 first round draft picks (due to bye weeks). What are the chances of this being random? There are 8 possible bye weeks out of 13 games. He plays 4 teams 2x each, and 5 teams 1x each (by division). Each team has one week with their first round pick not playing (I bet some are overlapping, so he couldn't get all 9). Is this beyond reasonable doubt? Also, the commissioner is a lawyer (in case that affects your opinions). He misses our team (Payton Manning) in week 8, misses the team with Duece and J Horn one week, and another team has half their team missing in week 3 he is missing. All this along with 2 other teams 1st round picks he gets lucky enough to play when the team is at half strength. Also, Cory came up with this idea a priori, since he thought the same thing happened last year. If you think he is cheating, what should the league do about it? He has all the money... Comments? |

Re: Fantasy football commissioner cheating?
maybe after last year you should have demanded the schedule be made before the draft.
and where are you playing that the website doesnt make the schedule? (yahoo, or espn, or cbssportsline all do this) ken |

Re: Fantasy football commissioner cheating?
I agree with this.
A lot of websites allow the commish to change the schedule to make playing bye weeks more fair if unevenly distributed. |

Re: Fantasy football commissioner cheating?
Trade players so that each week he is playing against great players, then trade that player back the next week.

Re: Fantasy football commissioner cheating?
This is very easy.
Every league I've ever played in, Week 1 looked like this: Team 1 vs 2 Team 3 vs 4 Team 5 vs 6 Team 7 vs 8 Team 9 vs 10 If yours doesn't look like this, then someone stacked the deck. If he DIDN'T stack the deck, then he'll have no objection to a redraw, overseen by 3 or more owners. |

Re: Fantasy football commissioner cheating?
We have always done are schedule by making up two divisions. Each spot in each division is a letter and there is a set schedule for each letter. You just pick your letter out of a hat on the day of the draft.
I would suggest you do something like this. |

Re: Fantasy football commissioner cheating?
Very shady bro. And people wonder why lawyers get a bad reputation.
