Favorite Hand of the 2004 WSOP/Main Event
With ESPN's WSOP coverage starting on Tuesday I thought it could be fun to recount our favorite hand of the World Series and then our favorite hand of the 2004 Main Event.
World Series- Ted Lawson's screwup in the Pot Limit Omaha Event. Main Event- Mike Matusow's AK falling to Ed Foster's AQ on the river. |

Re: Favorite Hand of the 2004 WSOP/Main Event
My favorite was Harrington getting caught with a crappy hand value and sucking out on the final table. But, that wasn't the hand. First, he sort of apologized and pledged not to do it again. Then he went all in w/ nothing the next hand. Classic. Harrington's a player!

Re: Favorite Hand of the 2004 WSOP/Main Event
John Murphy vs Josh Arieh.
As I recall it, Murphy flops a set of deuces, and Arieh calls him down with a k-high flush draw. The river makes the flush and pairs the board; Murphy moves in and Arieh gets away from the hand. |

MPGK is a good hand to check-raise all-in against an aggresssive player like Greg. |

I think I was unclear. It was all in preflop both hands. It's not possible to have MPGK preflop so you're obviously talking about something else. Both hands were rags.

I guarantee he was broadcast all in preflop at least once which invalidates your absolutist statement. He all in stole with some so so hand and someone at the table remarked they didn't have aces and folded. Given that I am certain about the non final table all in, I'm just gonna say assume you're wrong because I'm fairly certain about the other hands and you're shown me your memory on this topic is imperfect. |

Re: Favorite Hand of the 2004 WSOP/Main Event
Favourite hand must be in the Razz event. TJ vs. Howard, where on 6th street they both had the same hand.
"We had the same hand." "I know we had the same hand TJ." "We had the same hand." The one with Fischman in the crowd commenting on TJ having a wheel on 6th was also pretty good. |
