Default Good place to play craps on the strip

Im planning a trip to vegas next month with some friends. We'll probably be playing alot of drunken poker and craps. I usually dont play -EV games, but im willing to pay the small -EV from craps just cause its a fun game to play with your friends.

im trying to find the best place (nice casino room, friendly staff, fast cocktail waitress' etc.) to play craps with a small minimum passline bet (~$2) and decent odds bet (more than 20x or so) to minimize the house edge. I dont have the bankroll to be betting $200 on the odds bet, so a casino that offers 100x odds is the same to me as a place that only offers 20x.

Thanks in advance for any input

I heard that TJ Cloutier hosts a nightly home game.

Photoc will have the best names - he took me to learn how to play at Casino Royale - that has a 2 dollar passline - it's a very little place just north of Harrah's - not even a hotel - just a little casino on the strip

Casino Royale is the best place to play. I can't think of anyplace on the strip that compares. Some decent places downtown, though.

I second the Casino Royale recommendation. Best craps odds in Vegas.

I love craps, so I'll field this one...

If you insist on staying on the strip, there is only one place near the big casinos that has $2 craps, and that's casino royale. They have 100x odds tho, which is fantastic. Stay away from proposition bets there tho (if you don't already), they pay worse than usual. Drink service is fast and good, it's very close to a bar.

there's a place somewhere down by circus circus (an 'nem) that has cheep craps too, I think it's like nickle nick's or sumpin', but I ain't totally sure, I rarely make it down there.

Off strip is better for craps, but usually only practical if you live in vegas. Joker's wild and el dorado (both in henderson) have $1 min craps with 10x odds and 25c chips (thus making it possible to place the six for $1.50 and get paid $1.75 etc etc). But those are far from the strip. I always have fun at those little dive type casinos tho, the drinks are fast, the stakes low, and since me an' Photoc are usually the only ones that A) are tipping heavily (or at all), and B) are under 80 years old, we tend to get the "treatment," complete with comps and schmiooozes, etc.

Boulder station has $2 min craps with 10x odds regularly, but no 25c chips. Still tho, they give out comps on your play which seem disproportionate to me on the actual amount of action you give them (there's no way my "theoretical loss" adds up to the amount of comps they dish out for my tiny amount of near minimum, with near max odds, play).

Main street station downtown has $5 craps with 20x odds. Their microbrewery, and the fact they'll bring you microbrews at the craps table, make up for the $5 minimum. I have always liked main street, and go there regularly for beer, food and a little gamblin'. They have decent double deck blackjack, plus three full pay deuces wild video poker machines (if you hunt for them, or know where to look). I also believe the plaza has 10x odds (can't remember for sure) but a $5 min, but their double deck blackjack is probably the best in town. They have some really good midnight poker tournaments as well.

Other than those, most of vegas is at least $5 min with (at best) with 3x4x5x odds on craps.

thanks for the input everyone. it looks like ill most likely be hitting up casino royale for some craps.

Al - wow thats alot more info then i thought anyone would post. Thanks for the info. Those off strip games sound very tempting (especially the el dorado since we would also fit into categories A and B ). i plan to try to convince my friends that we should go down there to play

id only be betting on the passline, odds, and possibly place 6/8

does place 6 and 8 pay less than 7:6? or are you talking about hardways and the such?

For place bets, 6 and 8 pay 7:6, 5 and 9 play 7:5, and 4 and 10 pay 9:5. I used to gamble with a friend who would "buy" the 4/10 to get the true odds.
