Re: 77 - please discuss my play
I would've raised preflop hoping to isolate the maniac. If the players behind you are loose/aware of the maniac and probably won't allow you to isolate, then limping is fine.
The flop raise is fine I guess if he's a truly a maniac. It's a good spot to fold out anyone with a 9 or two overcards to your pair. However, once the button and BB call 2 cold on this drawless board I would give it up. |

Sorry - it's the A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], not A of diamonds on the flop

Re: 77 - please discuss my play
I think you might get more feedback on the Short handed forum. Raise preflop. I think that makes it much easier to play the hand from there out.

Re: 77 - please discuss my play
Your pre-flop and flop play seem totally incongruous. You limp pre-flop instead of isolating the maniac, and then you raise to effectively isolate on the flop once two overcards have fallen, one of them an A. Doesn't make sense to me.
