How to deal with a losing streak...
Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to cope with negative emotions felt during a losing streak? I am not steaming my money away or on tilt but still feel frustrated during this 7th session in a row loss...I know in the long run you're supposed to make a profit...but when you have to fold for hours on end and then have to watch your good hands get blown out of the water for the umpteenth time by some sh-- for brains who cold calls a raise in late position with a Q2o to suck out on you...what do you do or tell yourself to cope?...b/c the "in the long run I'ma profit" saying doesn't help sooth the pain caused from a brutal losing session. I understand the theory...but a human is a human and I can't deny that sometimes I feel like punching the living sh-- out of someone. Thanks!

punch something and take a break and watch something enjoyable. Go outside and take a break and hang out with some friends.

Losing streaks suck. It feels like everytime a big pot comes up, you are going to lose, no matter if you have a flopped straight or top set.
Its good that you aren't steaming. It sounds like that means you're dealing with it well enough. I'm in the middle of a very exciting -160BB hurricane, and I don't think I'm steaming at all. Its very important to give yourself checkups. Just keep doing what you are doing. Make sure that you aren't steaming. |
