Default 2/4 and the flush hits the river

PP 2/4 6-max NL

Hero is (550) MP with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Villain is SB (770)

villain is a pretty good regular.

Preflop
Short stack to heros immediate right minraises, hero declies the opportunity to reraise co calls, button calls, villain calls.

Flop (Pot 35)
7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
checked to hero who bets 35, villain in SB is the only caller.

Turn (Pot 105)
6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
check, hero bets 80, villain calls

River (Pot 265)
J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Villain leads for 100, hero ?

Comments on all streets would be nice too.,

I like preflop, flop and turn. That looks more like a blocking bet than a value bet to me. My play is largely opponent dependent here. I'm calling or pushing the vast majority of the time, depending on what kind of "good" the villian is...

edit: actually that may be pushing or folding... could really do with some more info about the opponent

I like the play on all streets, and I would fold on the river.

I agree with woolyhat, if the player is as good as you say, then a push on the river is reasonable too. To call here is a mistake I think, as youre almost surely beaten.

What hero is beating on that board? All draws got there.

I don't mind this line at all. This would probably be my default line against a complete unknown. When I suggest pushing, I'm making some really significant assumptions about what the OP means by a "good player."

Yes, you are correct. I'm glad I edited my post before you posted this so I don't feel too dumb. I'm sure that calling is v bad here.

You are, of course, correct... but what if the villian didn't have a draw? The flop is unlikely to have hit most players, so a lot of good players will lead out with a draw, thinking they had a large amount of fold equity. This would be an unsually passive line for a good player to take with the flush here, and the river helped no other draws.

It's quite likely that the villian has some kind of made hand, and is trying to set their own price to see a showdown. If you raise here, you shouldn't be thinking about how many worse hands will call... but rather, how many better hands will fold... If you were the villian, for example, and held 67... would you call a push from our hero?

Once again, I'm making (perhaps unfair) assumptions about what the OP means by "pretty good regular player"
