99 overpair to suited flop
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $50, $0.50BB :#A500AF(little fishy)/ (10 handed) converter
Party Poker $50, NL. This was a rough session in general. I had built my stack up to $95 or so, and then it just started melting away, $4, here, $6, there, basically not catching cards at all, and at this point I felt myself starting to play a little weak as a result. Anyway, Villain 1, "Maniac," is outrageous--GT has him 60/40/8 (honest to God) over about 130 hands at this point. Villain 2, "little fishy," has only been at the table 25 hands or so, but has tossed off a fair amount of chips chasing and showing down a hand or two of nothing. After 25 hands or so, he is something like 40/0/0, although, truthfully, I wasn't paying him much attention in this hand. Anyway, 3 questions: 1. Reraise preflop with the nines? 2. Raise on the flop look ok? 3. What should I have done with the turn and the river? UTG+1 ($46.25) UTG+2 ($46.50) MP1 ($84.45) MP2 ($44.25) MP3 ($94.50) CO ($181.12) Hero ($56.73) SB :#A500AF(Maniac)/ ($95.53) BB :#A500AF(little fishy)/ ($19.79) UTG ($64.29) Preflop: Hero is Button with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG+2 posts a blind of $0.75. SB :#A500AF(Maniac)/ posts a blind of $0.25. 2 folds, UTG+2 (poster) raises to $1.5, 4 folds, Hero calls $2, SB :#A500AF(Maniac)/ (poster) calls $1.75, BB :#A500AF(little fishy)/ calls $1.50. Flop: ($8.25) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players) Maniac bets $3, little fishy calls $3, UTG+2 folds, Hero raises to $15, Maniac calls $12, little fishy calls $12. Turn: ($53.25) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Maniac checks, (Hand converter messed up here, little fishy pushes all in the rest of his stack, $2.79) Hero calls $2.79, Maniac calls $2.79. River: ($58.83) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Maniac checks, Hero checks. Final Pot: $58.83 I think just calling on the turn was a big mistake. I assumed from his $3 flop bet that Maniac was either drawing to the flush or had it made, and I was leaning toward him needing another spade. But it freaked me out a bit when they both called my raise, and I basically assumed at that point that one of them had a made flush. Still, Maniac checked, and then I gave him a practically free river card, which feels like a big mistake. Comments? |

Re: 99 overpair to suited flop
you should have raise the turn. He is a maniac after all so dont freak out when he calls your raise. He probably just had a big spade.

Re: 99 overpair to suited flop
Flop looks ok, raise turn, value (read: weak) bet river.

Re: 99 overpair to suited flop
I'd probably push that turn...he's probably not folding though, so if he sucked out on you on the river you were hammered either way.
