Default edmonton

I'm going to be in Edmonton for a few days. There are 3 casinos that indicate that they have cardrooms.

I like to play limit Hold'em in the 10-20 to 30-60 range.

Can anyone tell me where I should go in Edmonton to get the best action? I checked out the Province of Alberta casino website but did not find that helpful.

Thanks in advance.

I'm from Edmonton but don't play live. Here is a link to a blog of a pro player from Edmonton and he rates a few casinos - Session 9,13 and 30 rate three of the local Casinos.

As far as I know there is

Baccarat - downtown
Yellowhead
Palace - in the world's largest mall
Argyll
Casino Edmonton

All of them have poker rooms. Looks like Yellowhead spreads the biggest games which makes sense as it is the biggest of the casinos.

The only place you're likely to find games this size is at Yellowhead Casino. They have 10/20 hold'em full of terrible players every Tuesday and Friday, and a 15/30 game every Saturday. That game may be half and half (Omaha Hi is the other half); I'm not sure because I never play it. They will spread larger games upon demand, but you have to be a bit insistent to get them to put a list up sometimes. Call ahead and ask; starting the list earlier in the night is wise in hopes of filling the game.

I live and play in Edmonton, though usually 3/6 or the 4/8 half-and-half they run at yellowhead

Palace Casino also has a regular Sunday night 10/20 game at midnight, and often on saturdays as well.

You're not gonna find anything higher than the occasional 15/30 at yellowhead unless there is a major tournament here. I have heard that the 1-2 NL game at Argyll is currently suspended due to new gaming regulations but haven't checked it out yet. \

-> What dates will you be in Edmonton?

Head down to Calgary if you can for a day. Never played in edmonton but from the responses here it seems difficult to find a game. You will have no problem finding at least a 15/30 game, 8/16 games are kind of rare but have been occuring more frequently recently. Never seen a 10/20 around here.

Check our flushdraw.ca it's a calgary forum with some Edmontonians as well who might be able to help you out in E-town.
