Default Pushing More Often - AA hand fairly standard

I'm trying to implement the push more often in my game when I have a monster or a lock in situations that a lesser hand is likely to pay me off. Was this one of those situations?

6 Handed Starts .25/.50 NL
Hero has AA utg.

CO open raises to 2.50
Button Calls 2.50
Hero Raises to 7.50
Both Call.

Pot has about 23$ in it
QT8 suits unimportant.

I push. I'm very confident that a Q will look me up here - I felt really good about this play. Can someone include some similar examples?

raise a bit more preflop.

and you should give stacksizes in your post.

All relevant stacks were about equal size. Bison's wasn't working. Are you content with taking this down preflop?

I'm confident a Q would be more likely to call a pot size bet and then call the rest on the turn. Pair + gutshot hands probably would too.

The only hands that will definitely call an all-in are those that currently beat you. Just imagine to yourself that you have already gone all-in, but then put it in in pot size increments on each street. It will make you more money in the long run - despite the times when some crazy draw makes it that you feel would have folded to an all-in on the flop.

(I assumed effective stack size of $50 for this - you really need to post the stack sizes so that people understand the situation. For instance if you acually had $30 then I agree with your play 100%. If you had $1000 I 100% disagree).

Yes. Equal to what?

I also raise more pre-flop, especially if you are gonna open push the flop. If stacks are 100XBB you actually give them proper set odds, even if it's just barely.

One other reason I raise more pre-flop is that at these levels I am used to gettin called if I make it $9-10.

no I'm not but if stacks are deep enough I'll be glad to call an additional 5 to stack an obvious preflop monster.

The fact that they both called your reraise would indicate that they aren't that tight and 1 of them would likely call a bigger raise.

Sorry about that, I'm definitely not giving enough info in my posts! I hope Bison's gets back up soon.

All had around 60bb.

If everyone had about 60bb and you raised it to 15bb preflop with two callers, there is 45bb in the pot and everyone has 45bb behind. Your "push" is simply a potsized bet. Standard. This is why stack sizes matter. Your raise from 5bb to 15bb (10 more to call) gave your opponents insufficient odds to draw to the set.

I'll clarify stack sizes in my next post. Just a pain that the converter is currently down.
