Default TP on monotone flop, heads up against unknown.

Party 5/10 game, I have no read on the other player involved in the hand.

Pre-flop: all fold to MP player who limps, I raise from the button w/K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 10[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], blinds fold, limper calls.

Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
MP bets, I raise, MP 3-bets......

what's the plan????

I'll cap & lead a non-[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] turn. Flopped flushes will usually check the flop here & try for a trick rasie somewhere later.

I don't generally raise this flop. I'll usually raise the turn. Given his 3-bet here I'd likely call and raise the turn, folding to a turn 3-bet.

Deleted by W.D. because I realize I misread Grunch's post as saying "call" instead of "cap."

I'll figure out what I really like in a second.

Agreed. I'm seeing a showdown here the way it played out unless the turn is a fourth heart though.

I prefer to just call the bet and raise a non [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] turn. I find this works against most players. The call and wait for turn usually is convincing enough. Sometimes you get 3 bet and have to fold.

I think both Grunch's and Entity's lines are acceptable. I have a preference for a smooth call, raise a non-heart turn.

Yep, I'm with the rest of the chorus. In position I love calling here and raising a non-heart turn.

The reason I prefer to cap the flop is becasue I believe we have a wide equity edge on the flop which often evaporates on the turn. I want my Sklansky Bucks now, while I can get 'em.

The reason I prefer to wait until the turn is because I have a questionable equity position on the flop which often becomes much clearer on the turn. I want my Sklansky bucks later, when I know they actually exist.
