I'd fold typically fold here, however I am very curious as to what villains probable hand ranges are. I mean that is quite the over-bet with a 4 in his hand.

Anyways in situations like this I check behind the turn and plan to call any reasonable sized bet on the river or sometimes I'll calla ridiculous overbet that looks like a bluff.

Can't do anything but fold here unless you have a solid read on the BB. Don't forget he has 2 random's here so it's really hard to put him on a hand. If it makes you feel any better I think you played the hand well.

Thanks for the replys, what about the range of hands that the villian might have? Considering his play I strongly believe that he is trying to bluff me by representing 4.
What are your thoughts?

That is completely possible, or he could have a lower pair than yours.

These are the reasons why you should check behind on the turn and check behind on the river/call a river bet by him.

Never give your opponent an opportunity to bluff you off of the best hand.
