Default Are these good plays or stupid risky mistakes?

Both examples are from Prima $10 rebuy roughly 1000 entrants 80th pays.

Hand 1.

Blinds 300/600 Hero = 12000 average stack 11000 250 left.

hero is utg and is dealt AJo

hero calls 600
2 folds
player a calls 600 (has 10000 chips)
player b calls 600 (has 15000 chips)
1 fold
player c calls 600 (has 7000 chips)
player d calls 600 (has 8000 chips)
sb calls 300 (has 18000)
bb raises all-in to 3600
hero raises all-in to 12000

Now the thinking here was the pot was at 3600 (bb stack) + 3600 (6 limpers) = 7200 and it was 3000 for me to call.

Player a,b and c were all relatively conservative and nearly always raised with premium hands so i felt that they would not risk their stack calling my all-in and if player d or e had a strong hand they would have surely raised to thin the limping field.

Hand 2

hero = 8000 blinds 400/800 average stack 14000 200 left

Hero is BB and is dealt 32s

utg folds
player A calls 800 (same player as above) stack = 10000
player b calls 800 (same player as above) stack = 12000
villain goes all-in to 2100
5 folds
Hero raises all-in to 8000

Again the thinking was that Villain's stack (2100) plus the money on the table already 1200 for the blinds and 1600 for the 2 limpers meant that it was 4900 in the pot and only 1300 for me to call.

The same reads apply for players a and b if they had a strong hand i felt they would have raised with it.

Any thoughts?

First move looks good, especially if you're pretty confident on your reads.. the 2nd though, just dont like that.. while you probably have live cards, if you're called by either of the other guys, you're F-ed big time. Not worth the risk IMO.

I don't like limping with AJo UTG. I will usually fold this unless the table is very weak tight, in which case I will raise, and fold to any major resistance. AJo is just too weak of a hand to be playing from out of position.

I think Hand 1 is okay, not great but not horrible, AJ is a bit weak with 4 people behind you, but you have all but one of them covered, given your reads, I suspect you successfully isolate against the shortstack.

I don’t like the play in Hand 2 because:
1) their calling requirements are a bit lower after seeing you play Hand 1
2) they both have you covered
3) your hand is horrible

If you do make the play in Hand 2 and manage to survive it, I think you need to be aware that the other player’s calling requirements have gone down significantly <think Rodney Dangerfield> and adjust your game accordingly. Some players are good at using a lack of respect for their bets to their advantage, are you?

thanks for the replies guys.

1st of all i agree ajo should really be folded or raised as it is weak, so perhaps i should have raised this initially.

The results for both were hands were

Hand 1

Hero raises all-in
players a-d and the sb folds

and bb's KK holds up against hero's AJo.

Hand 2

Hero in fact folded
player a folds
player b calls

player b's a9 hits an A on the turn to beat villains's TT, however hero would have won with a straight.

I felt annoyed that i didnt make the play the 2nd time as i would have won a decent sized pot, however, i thought that it might not have been correct as i was perhaps basing my annoyance on one result not that i played it wrong.

I folded for nearly exactly the points mentioned by just i think.

Thanks for the feedback it makes me have more confidence in my play cheers guys
