Default Review: Hands 89 & 90 (straight draws)

HAND 89 :

2 folds, MP1 calls, Hero calls, CO calls, Button calls, 1 fold, BB checks.

Flop: (5.50 SB) A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero checks, CO bets, Button folds, BB calls, MP1 folds, Hero folds

HAND 90 :
Preflop: Hero is MP1 with T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 1 fold, Hero calls, MP2 calls, 2 folds, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (5 SB) J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB bets, UTG calls, Hero folds

Hero doesn't like drawing hands and gives up a little easily. On the previous hand, he gave up in the best relative position to the bettor with 2 backdoors to the nuts and may very well be closing the action behind someone betting middle pair or a draw with two live overcards. I peel one here.

On this one, I might have come in for a PF raise depending upon the table. After the flop, Hero has a double belly-buster straight-draw (4 outs + 4 tainted outs) and an overcard (3 tainted outs) against no flush draws with a caller already invested in the pot. It seems likely that this will be unraised by SB.

Without a read, this is at least a call and I probably raise to clean up outs.

Hand 1 is a clear fold but Hand 2 is a call IMO. If UTG is solid though I fold hand #2 preflop.

No way am I calling Hand 89.

Hand 90 is close, but I call for implied odds.

Edit: Hand 90 is actually a clear & easy call, although I missed what seperated it from a close call to an easy call at first.

Hand 90 you have a double gutter, position, and an over getting 7:1. Stupid easy call.

I missed the second gutter on hand 90. The call is much much easier than I first thought.

Wow. I just realized Hand 90 is an easy raise. Easy, easy raise. Knock out MP2 some of the time but not raising here is horrible IMO.
