98s on button play along
I've got no solid reads other than the table is generally loose and passive. Not a lot of action without a strong hand.
Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) http://216.119.70.224/converter/hhconverter.pl Preflop: Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, 2 folds, CO calls, Hero???? |

Re: 98s on button play along
Call, hoping that the blinds don't raise. You've got 3 limpers, so probably 5 opponents...good table for 98s.

Re: 98s on button play along
Hero limps along, we'd like to see a cheap flop with a suited connector, and we get more value having the blinds call than folding them if we flop a strong draw.

Re: 98s on button play along
Let's get in on this pot, call and in the event of a blind raise you probably have to call again (assuming most players stay in the hand/and maybe even if they don't). Maybe I am too confident, but I think we are too good of players not to get in this one.

Re: 98s on button play along
Call, we have position and enough limper to justify it. If a blind raises, chances are good that everyone calls that raise.

NEXT STREET...EL FLOPO
Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) http://216.119.70.224/converter/hhconverter.pl
Preflop: Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, 2 folds, CO calls, Hero raises, 2 folds, UTG calls, MP1 calls, CO calls. OK, I raised here for three reasons. I have position, I want control of the hand, and with the limpers I wanted a pot large enough i could draw if I whiffed. If the blinds fold, the blinds fold. If they raise and limpers call, then I call with position. Flop: (9.50 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players) UTG checks, MP1 checks, CO checks, Hero??? |

Re: NEXT STREET...EL FLOPO
I bet kind of automatic here.
Is this bet really automatic or worth a second thought? |

Re: NEXT STREET...EL FLOPO
I bet here cause I'd rather spend 1 SB to see two cards (assuming free card play works). This is the kind of situation we wanted control of the hand for in the first place, right?

Re: NEXT STREET...EL FLOPO
Textbook freecard play if you bet here, it's highly unlikely this board hit anyone enough that they'd feel comfortable check-raising you.

Re: NEXT STREET...EL FLOPO
I would say take the free card right now. If there's a chance you may win the pot right here, then bet. If there's a chance you may buy the pot on the turn if you bet now, then betting might be right. But given that they're loose passive, they probably like their hand enough to call your bet. Perhaps you can induce one to fold, but that's not enough IMO.
By checking here, this round is guaranteed to be +EV (unless you're drawing dead). If you bet, get called and the turn makes someone a hand and that person will throw in a "donkbet" (which is quite common with passives, who don't like their hand enough to c/r). If that happens, your bet is -EV. <edit> If you would have a bdfld, betting would be fine since you probably would have had odds to call a bet. You would also have more options for the rest of the hand. </edit> |
