Default Monitors for multitabling

Hello,

I'm looking for a monitor like the Dell FP that fits four PP tables without overlap, but the issue is that I don't need the monitor to be thin. I'd also like to pay a lot less than $500.

So..is there a particular size of monitor that is required or is it only the resolution that matters?

Thanks,
quinn

ya just get a Dell 19" CRT, thats what i had b4 i got the flat panels...its big and bulky but its 1600 by 1200 and does 4 w/ no overlap...runs probably $100 used via ebay/craigslist.

i actually have my old one just sitting on the floor and wouldn't mind selling it for cheap to a good home, are you in the bay area?

I would recommend the Dell 2001FPS or the Samsung 213T.

Best price / distributor for Samsung is most likely www.newegg.com . You might be able to find a slightly better price elsewhere, but new egg is reliable and fast.

I've seen good deals on the Dell items at www.gottadeal.com . I have a Sony LCD at home, but Sony is usually overpriced. I have a Dell at work.

Yeah, they're beautiful monitors but if the sexyness factor isn't grabbing you, just go with the cheaper route! I love my big sexy monitors too much to deal with CRTs anymore but it's all personal preference.

flat panels have less energy usage (though not enough to justify the difference in price), heat output, and are better for your eyes...

i'm really happy with my 2001fps, and will probably never buy a CRT again--- but for a person just starting out, a CRT is probably the way to go... you should be able to find a new 19" CRT with 1600x1200 res. for $200 or less by shopping around a little online.
